Film Showing Sheffield 28th Sept 2012

hi,

The Univ. of Sheffield is involved in a European-wdie initiative called Researcher’s Night. This year it is on the 28th Sept, and we will be showing The Road from Crime as part of that event. The events (all of them, not just the film) are free to any member of the public – just pitch up on the night.

I’ll post more details (venue and time) nearer the time. I’m hoping that Charlie Smith, Raymond Lunn and Allan Weaver (who all appear in the film) will all be able to make it along for a Q&A session after the film.

Please do pass this on to people who might want to come along.

With best wishes,

Stephen

  1. I watched this short film with my son who has experienced the criminal justice system, We both found it educational, supportive and hopeful for the future of Criminal Justice system. As a family we have experienced the prejudice from a criminal justice social worker, I have hope that with the help and support of people like Allan we will get better at being able to support people away from crime but feel we really need to get the right people in situ to help this happen and recognise the value of supporting family and not make them feel like criminals themselves. Fantastic film well done, honest and gives recognition to how hard it is to move away from crime. I will be passing this onto the vulnerable groups I work with.
