This was difficult to combine with the requirement for PA support in the area. Therefore, in&nbsp;December 2013, we held a meeting&nbsp;at Perth and Kinross Council HQ&nbsp;to gather together key stakeholders in the discussion about SDS, personal assistants and the development of rural services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The aims of the meeting was to understand&nbsp;how we collectively could best create a framework for engagement with the Pitlochry community which would allow for individuals, groups and organisations to<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>meet outcomes<\/li><li>remain legal<\/li><li>be creative<\/li><li>respond to local needs<\/li><li>provide choice<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>We all appreciated that there are challenges to achieving this together, so we agreed to&nbsp;undertake the following actions:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Communications<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Leaflets and websites that mention self-employment have to be clear but not prescriptive<\/li><li>Investigate updating the information on Perth and Kinross Council&nbsp;website<\/li><li>The council should collaborate with Growbiz around the 4 options for SDS<\/li><li>Create clear info on contracting as well as accessible clear information on employment\/self employment distinctions.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Support to clients<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Collectively engage with all in the individual areas<\/li><li>Locality working to support local people and partners<\/li><li>Create a clear and comprehensive support package to enable parent\/carer to manage SDS package<\/li><li>Long term \u2013 information event for parents\/carers children\/young people.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Potential solutions discussed<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Micro-provision<\/li><li>Co-operatives<\/li><li>Employing family members<\/li><li>Variable rates of pay<\/li><li>Raise the profile of the job<\/li><li>Voucher payment<\/li><li>Safeguarding employers w.
