I have always had a keen interest on health inequalities for people with a learning disability in terms of barriers in accessing services both in the community and within a hospital setting. Given the large scope of any potential research, it was important I chose an area of research which was both current and manageable in terms of size and subject.\u00a0 My research focuses on \u201cThe barriers and enablers for women with a learning disability accessing cervical screening services\u201d. My aim is to ensure that by the findings of the research project I will be able to identify the potential barriers for women with a learning disability accessing cervical screening services.
