ellendaly | April 28, 2009The SSKS information literacy pack has been developed by IRISS and NES to support social services staff make best use of the information and knowledge resources of SSKS. It’s designed to be used by trainers leading groups of staff through sessions on information literacy – perhaps combined with hands-on access to SSKS. It can also be used by individual staff members interested in enhancing their knowledge and skills in information literacy.
The pack is completely free to download and use. Its based on a seven step information literacy cycle developed by NES (2008) and adapted by IRISS. The pack is in seven sections each one representing one step in the information literacy cycle: each step includes learning outcomes, examples, activities, trainers’ notes and PowerPoint slides.
