SSSC Workforce Solutions elearning resource

ssks | September 9, 2010

There is currently a big push in the social services sector on workforce development and lifelong learning, and better ways for employers and employees to record and progress learning.

The Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) has produced a Workforce Solutions portal, which offers a range of resources to assist employers in meeting expectations in workforce development and registration agendas for the social services sector. The resources are designed to accommodate the individual employee to plan and progress their own learning and development, while others are intended for employers to support them in developing the workforce they need now, or may need in the future.

Resources contained in the site include guidance for employers on staff induction; a carer development toolkit, which includes online activities; career pathways information; NOS Navigator, an easy-to-use tool to help users find their way around the national occupational standards for the social services sector in Scotland and SVQ units; Continuous Learning Framework information; resources on workforce planning, including presentations and video material; and SCQF and Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) information and elearning activities.

All information and tools on the site are available free of charge.
