{"id":35,"date":"2012-05-14T13:02:16","date_gmt":"2012-05-14T13:02:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.iriss.org.uk\/sdsevidenceexplorers\/?p=35"},"modified":"2012-05-14T13:02:16","modified_gmt":"2012-05-14T13:02:16","slug":"guest-blogger","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.iriss.org.uk\/sdsevidenceexplorers\/2012\/05\/14\/guest-blogger\/","title":{"rendered":"Guest blogger"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>From\u00a0Pippa Coutts, the Scottish Union of Supported Employment (SUSE)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>SUSE is working on a capacity building project, funded by a grant awarded by The Scottish Government as part of their programme: &#8220;Implementing the National Strategy: Building the Capacity of Providers&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>SUSE&#8217;s members (generally providers of specialist employment services for people with disabilities) are thinking about\u00a0the links between\u00a0self directed support and effective employability support. They are concerned that there may be a lack of knowledge about supported employment amongst workers who are assessing self directed support applications or directing care plans.<\/p>\n<p>SUSE members and events have highlighted a need to spread awareness of supported employment, its features and outcomes, if it is to be offered as a possibility to individuals taking up self directed support.
