I worried. Had I let him down?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Wednesday, I witnessed relief, joy, excitement.<br>A fourteen year old girl going home.<br>Bitter-sweet for me.<br>I won\u2019t see her face now every day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Thursday, in a group, a tearful woman told<br>How her friend\u2019s child had disappeared.<br>Another woman without much English<br>couldn\u2019t understand.&nbsp; How could I explain?<br>It was hard to find the words.<br>It was not my story.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Friday, Andrew was shouting, swearing, kicking.<br>I got out the coping box we\u2019d filled with<br>stress balls, a teddy bear to throw,<br>comic books we\u2019d made to help him understand.<br>This time Sonic Hedgehog calmed him down.<br>I felt good.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Saturday and Sunday, my family needed me.<br>All the usual stuff, lifts to clubs, friends round,<br>a house full of life and noise \u2013 and always, always,<br>housework needing done.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p>This poem was composed by a group of practitioners working in different areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-button aligncenter is-style-squared w-100\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link\" href=\"https:\/\/blogs.iriss.org.uk\/viewfromhere\/poems\/\">Explore all poems<br><\/a><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Monday I heard someone hurt,a woman breathing deeply, crying,I felt sad, but happythat at last she\u2019d opened up.
