Services Manager, ENABLE Scotland
I work a services manager for Enable Scotland and have done for the last few years. We support people with learning disabilities in a variety of ways. I have a special interest in helping people who helping people who are resorting to challenging behaviour to communicate. I grew up in Kent and North Wales and moved up to Scotland to do my Psychology degree at Stirling University in 1999. At that time I had a very deterministic view of the world and since starting with this project I’ve learned that I was a โpositivistโ interested only in what could be quantified and measured. After working for 10 years supporting people with Learning Disabilities and their staff I am now a lot more interested in how people experience the world and looking at qualitative data as well as quantitative.
