This is a joint IRISS/CCPS project funded by the ESRC.
The project aims to understand and investigate the impact of the government’s Welfare Reform Act (2012) on social services in Scotland. In particular, the project is concerned with the potential impacts of reform on service demand and delivery for third sector social and housing care providers.
Fundamental to the projects aims and objectives is an increased understanding of the impacts on staff welfare and wellbeing, in addition to staff training needs in the context of welfare reform. Additionally, the project will investigate how changes to welfare are impacting on service delivery, and, how this could influence the roles staff are expected to perform.
We will be conducting a number of interviews as part of this project with third sector organisations that are likely to be affected by the reforms.
