About project

The partners IRISS worked with to deliver the project were:

Service Design Masters students from Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & Design. Service design is a relatively new field, which seeks to engage users more actively in the creative process. Business, third sector and public services alike have incorporated design as a tool into their efforts to improve communication and efficiency.

GrowBiz is a community-based enterprise support service covering Eastern and Highland Perthshire. It provides support to anyone thinking of becoming self-employed, or starting (or growing) a small business or social enterprise. The organisation provides one-to-one meetings, peer support, specialist advice from the GrowBiz panel, mentoring and training.

Perth & Kinross Councilโ€™s Community Care department provide services for older people and vulnerable adults, helping them, wherever possible, to live independently within their own homes. The department supports communities across Perth and Kinross by working to reduce re-offending and increase public safety and protection. It also provides support such as home care, day care and residential services, respite or advocacy.

PKAVS is charity advancing the lives of thousands of disadvantaged people and the voluntary sector in Perth & Kinross. It has been helping people and families across Perth & Kinross since 1972. Its staff responds to changing community needs and promote volunteering and citizenship among people of all ages.

Perth and Kinross Healthy Communities Collaborative (NHS Tayside) is a community-led health promotion initiative. It works with older people from specific communities, and empowers them to improve health and quality of life for themselves and their peers.
